Can I benefit from Physiotherapy?

You can benefit from physiotherapy if you present with one of these symptoms:

  • Pain
  • Weakness
  • Stiffness
  • Reduced range of movement

Physiotherapy helps to relieve pain and increase range of movement, mobility and function. The aim of treatment is to reach your body�s maximum potential.

What should I expect from Bolton Physio?

You should expect first class physiotherapy treatment from our highly experienced physiotherapists. You will receive the best possible treatment available in a safe, modern environment.

What process will I go through?

You can expect a thorough initial assessment for your physiotherapist to gain a good background of your symptoms or conditions. Our physiotherapists will provide diagnosis; treatment plan and approximated number of treatments; and a likely prognosis. Progress will be monitored and outcome measures reviewed to ensure your goals are achieved.

What will I do between treatment sessions?

Our physiotherapists want to provide you with the best possible care, so you will be given a lot of advice and things to do between sessions. The more you adhere to your physiotherapists instruction the quicker you will recover.

Is manipulation safe?

Yes it is completely safe. All physiotherapists are fully qualified and have been trained to manipulate joints.

Do I have to stop playing my sport if I have an injury?

You physiotherapist will advise you on whether to rest, do specific exercises or participate in sports.

Are immediate appointments available?

Yes we have emergency appointments and you can usually be seen within 24 - 48 hours.

What are your opening times?

We are open 7 days a week. The opening times are Monday to Friday 8am until 8pm and the weekend service runs on a Saturday and Sunday between 9am and 4pm.

Does my doctor have to refer me to you?

No your doctor does not need to refer you, you can refer yourself for treatment by ringing our contact number: 01204 216 899.

How long do appointments take?

Your initial assessment will take one hour and follow up appointments are usually 30-60 minutes depending on your problem.

Should I bring anything to my appointment?

If you have any copies of previous medical notes or investigations they would be useful for our physiotherapists to see, although not essential.

Please wear comfortable, loose clothing. Wear or bring shorts if your affected is not on show.

Can I trust my physiotherapist is fully qualified and experienced?

Yes. All of our physiotherapists have a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree and at least 5 years experience in musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy. All our physiotherapists are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) and they will also be on the Health Professionals Register (HPC) � this can be checked online.

How do I pay?

Your first payment for your initial assessment will be taken prior to your appointment, usually over the phone when you ring to book. From then you will pay after each treatment session by cash, card or cheque.

If you have been authorised treatment by your insurer, solicitor or case manager we will send an invoice to them directly.

Do I have to pay for treatment if I have Private Medical Insurance?

Bolton Physio are recognised by many major insurance companies. You can check with your insurance company before you book in for treatment, some company�s request a Doctor�s referral letter.
